ABOUT ME
I
have always enjoyed competing in sport,
particularly football and badminton. It was my love of sport, combined
with an
interest in injuries and the science behind them that fuelled my desire
to
become a Sports Therapist, so that I would be able discover the
underlying
causes of pain, allowing me to carry out the most appropriate treatment
so that
my clients can return to full fitness as soon as possible.
I gained my qualification at the University of Kent graduating with a
2:1 in
2008 where I enjoyed working in the sports injury clinic. My
qualification
enabled me to become a fully accredited member of the Society of Sport
Therapists and become fully insured.
I am the sports therapist for The London &
South East FA Blind
Football Centre of Excellence. I feel the experience that I have gained
in this
post with elite athletes in the top of their game pushing
to be part of the Paralympics
has enhanced my
skills and credentials. This experience
has exposed me to a large range of injuries allowing me to be part of
the
healing process from start to finish but also adapting my other skills
in
Nutrition, pre sport massage and strapping, as well as furthering my
pitch side
skills.
I am currently based in Essex and I have previously gained experience
working
at Southend United Football club and Westham United Ladies. I feel
working for
Westham United ladies has exposed me to a large range of injuries
allowing me
to be part of the healing process from start to finish but also
adapting my
other skills in, pre sport massage and strapping, as well as furthering
my
pitch side skills. I have also worked with local badminton teams,
hockey teams
and football teams to maintain my skills.
I
have plenty of experience working
as a physiotherapy assistant and Senior Rehab Assistant in
a Hospital and in the community.
This has enhanced my clinical skills. Developing rehabilitation
programs to
enhance patient’s lifestyles and achieving their goals enabling me to
increase
my skills further across all disciplines and the care i provide for my
patients.
